Seismic site classification of the Costa Rican Strong-Motion Network based on VS30 measurements and site fundamental period

چکیده
In this paper, a new seismic site classification for the Costa Rican Strong-Motion Network (CRSMN) is proposed. The soil profile of Seismic Code based on average shear-wave velocity top 30 m (VS30) used as reference. fundamental period (Tf) included parameter to complement existing characterization. For this, VS30 measurements from 52 accelerometric stations are related obtained through horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratios (HVSR) using ground motion records Database. H/V estimated with 5% damped acceleration response spectra and traditional Fourier amplitude S-wave window. From relation between Tf, different ranges Tf assigned graph three-lines four-areas proposed classify CRSMN.

PREDICTIVE MODELS OF THE DOMINANT PERIOD OF SITE USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK AND MICROTREMOR MEASUREMENTS: APPLICATION TO URMIA, IRAN
Direct drilling method and the use of microtremor studies are among the most commonly used available methods utilized to estimate dynamic parameters for a site. One of the most important parameters is the dominant period of the site whose estimation plays a pivotal role in seismic hazard mitigation. The conventional models obtained are not capable of estimating the parameters that govern the se...
متن کاملSlash and Burn Impacts on a Costa Rican Wet Forest Site
Impacts of felling, mulching, and burning on budgets of C, N, S, P, K, Ca, and Mg; rates of CO2 evolution from the soil; soil seed storage; and plant growth were evaluated. The felled tropical evergreen forest was 8-9 yr old, interspersed with patches of 70-yr-old forest and had a leaf area index of 6 and aboveground biomass of 5.2 kg/M2. Harvest of the largest trees removed 18% of the S, and >...
متن کاملComparison of Single- site and Multi-site Based Calibrations of SWAT in Taleghan Watershed, Iran
Calibration of model is critical for hydrologic modeling of large watersheds in a mountain watershed. In this study Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) used to comparison a single-site calibration procedure that employed streamflow measurement at outlet of watershed to a multi-site calibration method that used streamflow measurements at three stations (Galinak, Joestan and Dehdar). Results sh...
متن کاملThe Introduction of the Archaeological Site of Sibeh-Koukherd, Based on Archaeological and Archaeogeophysical Surveys Data
There are many archaeological sites in Iran that have been remained unknown and have been ignored during these years with our neglect and under the pretext of the growth of cities and villages. The study of these sites, each of which is a ring in the history of human studies, is necessary for the correct understanding of the culture of the past. In the village of Koukherd -which is located in B...

There is much to say about the structure and composition of a local web. Identification of authorities, topics and web communities can be used to improve search engines, change a portal design or to develop marketing strategies. The Costa Rican web was chosen as a test case for web mining analysis. After the study we obtained several descriptors of the web as well as the answers to typical ques...
